This one week theatre camp offers an opportunity to explore all facets of creating and producing an original theatre production while enhancing creativity and self-confidence.  Student will have the opportunity to focus on any, or all, of the following: producing, playwrighting, acting, scenic design, costume design, and lighting.  Each session will explore a short classic story and will be taught by a theatre professional.  A public performance will be given on the final evening of the session at 7pm.

Theatre is not just about acting – it takes numerous individuals with numerous talents to “put on a play”.  This camp helps teach concepts of the creative process, empowerment, team work, self confidence, and exploration of a potential talent.  Each session is designed to explore the interests and talents within that particular group – so each week can be a very different experience.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I sign my child up for multiple weeks?  Campers will all be working on the same story, creating a mini production and learning theater as a business.

Campers will assist in determining their area of concentration and still have the opportunity to assist in other facets of the theater production.  For instance, scenery, lighting, sound system, script writing, acting are all important elements to the Friday evening performance and can be explored at the Children’s Theater Institute Camp, housed at the Gene B. Glick Junior Achievement Education Center.
