The Radio Station plays hit songs over the JA BizTown airwaves. Customers stop by to make song requests and dedications. Students and teachers often enjoy getting together in the center of the city for a dance break!
As CEO, I am busy throughout the day. I work with the staff to set up the prices for song requests and write a short editorial that is read over the air. I proofread and give my stamp of approval on news stories that reporters generate. I assist when the CFO and Ad Executive are on break and give a speech at the Town Meeting.
As second in command, I spend most of my time working on a computer to help process the payroll checks for employees. I pay all of the business expenses and make deposits to the bank. I am very busy throughout the day and have A LOT of paper work on my desk. It is important for me to be organized.
I work throughout JA BizTown and must wear my press badge so everyone knows that I am on official business. I collect the ads and payments from each business. I also operate the computer to take customer payments for raffle tickets and song requests.
When I wear my press badge, I become the official eyes and ears of the Radio Station. I interview various citizens, CEOs, and volunteers of JA BizTown and then write about fun things happening in the town. The DJ reads my report over the air.
I am the official time keeper of JA BizTown. I announce all shopping and lunch breaks and follow the radio’s on-air schedule, as outlined in the Broadcast Log. I must speak clearly when I am on the air, and it is fun to pick out the music from the radio music library and broadcast it to the JA BizTown citizens.
